In this updated take on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's beloved mystery tales, the eccentric sleuth prowls the streets of modern London in search for clues. Sherlock Holmes is a fictional private detective, known as a 'consulting detective'. In the stories, Holmes is best known for his proficiency with observation, forensic science and logical reasoning, which he employs when investigating cases for a wide variety of clients.



After a teenage girls perplexing suicide, a classmate receives a series of tapes that unravel the mystery of her tragic choice. 13 Reasons Why is a controversial TV Drama where it's aims are ambitious. There is a great amount of  misdemeanours, from bullying to voyurism, sexual assault to a fatal car crash, all against the backdrop of sex, drugs and nostalgic mix tapes.




The TV drama is based on the 2008 dissapreance of 9-year-old Shannon Matthews and the successful search  for her by police and volunteers in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, along with the revelation of mother Karen's involvement in Shannon's kidnapping.



When his brother is wrongly convicted of murder, a structural engineer resolves to bust his sibling out of the notorious Fox River Sate Penitentiary, then sets in motion a series of elaborate plans to break his brother out and prove his innocence. Once out of jail their perils aren't over- the brother must flee to escape recapture and battle an intricate political conspiracy that put everyone's life at risk.




This thrilling Netflix-original Drama stars award-winning actress Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, who lives in a small Indiana town in 1983- inspired by a time when tales of science fiction captivated audiences. When Joyce's 12-year-old son, Will, goes missing, she launches a terrifying investigation into his disappreance with local authorities. As they search for answers, they unravel a series of extraordinary mysteries involving secret government experiments, unnerving supernatural forces, and a very unusual little girl.

The props within 'American Beauty'  would suggest the idea of the American Dream (house, car, family etc), with Primary colours present throughout these scenes- red,white and blue. This is a representation of the 'good old' American country. As well as this the colours are also bland, simplistic and boring. This is present in the bedroom, bathroom and the office, which could reflect the lifestyle choices of the characters. It is evident that this has also been considered in the choices of clothing with Jane and Lester but less with Carolyn, also known as colour wise. The choices made for Lesters clothing might suggest the idea that he feels like he might be dying or he is already dead. In one particular scene the bedroom is dark on Lester's side of the bed, which might implie that Lester has some form of mental health disorder such as depression.                            The videos Lullaby (Sigala & Paloma Faith), One Kiss (Calvin Harris & Dua Lipa) and Came Here for Love (Sigala & Ella Eyre) have a similar theme of ideology and ethnic imagery represented in their videos. They all carry similar features and music video conventions when concerning mise-en-scene, camera shots and editing. For example, in the three videos above, it shows a very clear representation of the age group which are typically into dance music, this can be identified through the use of age specific actors seen throughout the videos, all seeming to be in their early twenties. Those shown in the video are generally female, this has been purposely done in order to attract viewers attention (Male Gaze) not because the audience is mainly this gender.
