The Cold War and who the political dispute involved: The cold war was a period of geopolitical tension between the Soviet Union with its satelite states, and the United States after World War II. The term 'cold' is used becuase there is no large-scale fighting directly between two sides, bu they each supported major regional wars known as proxy war. How Lond Did it Last For? In 1945, one major war ended and another began. The Cold War lasted about 45 years. There were no direct militatry campaigns between the two main antagonist, the United States anf the Soviet Union. How it affected everyday life for the residents of the countries involved: people suffered a financial crisis  living standards lowered  How Was Germany Divided? The seperation of Berlin began in 1945 after the collapse of Germany. The country was divided into four zones, where each superpower was controlled by a zone. The Mickey Mouse Protection Act This law, also known as the Sonny Bono Copyright Term Extension Act, or the Mickey Mouse Protection Act, effectively 'froze' the advancement date of the public domain in the United States for works covered by the older fixed term copyright rules. Under this act, works made in 1923 or afterwards that were still protected by copyright in 1988 will not enter the public domain until 2019 or later.
